We are looking for 

A meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to manage our client's financial transactions, reporting, and compliance of several group entities.

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing accounts payable/receivable, assisting the Senior Accountant in preparing financial statements, conducting month-end closings, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. 

The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of accounting principles, experience with accounting software, and excellent analytical skills. This role supports the company’s financial health, providing insights for informed decision-making and ensuring compliance with regulations.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and summaries in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense reports, and cash transactions.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns and other regulatory filings as required.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and assist in audit processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and automate workflows.
  • Participate in other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required to support team objectives and organizational goals.

The ideal candidate should have 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar, ACCA or relevant certification is considered an asset.
  • 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

How you’ll work

  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid (Malta)
  • Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
