Betsson AB is a Swedish online gambling company that operates a variety of gaming brands, including Betsson, Betsafe, and NordicBet. Originally founded in 1963 as AB Restaurang Rouletter, the company initially provided slot machines to Swedish restaurants before transitioning into online gaming. In 2003, it acquired Betsson, and by 2006, it rebranded as Betsson AB, focusing entirely on digital gambling. The company offers casino games, sports betting, poker, bingo, and scratch cards, operating under multiple gaming licenses, including one from the Malta Gaming Authority. Listed on the Nasdaq Stockholm Large Cap, Betsson reported annual revenues of €1.11 billion in 2024 and employs over 2,600 people across locations such as Malta, Sweden, and Lithuania.

Over the years, Betsson has expanded through strategic acquisitions and market entries, securing licenses in Greece, Mexico, and Argentina. In 2011, it acquired Betsafe to strengthen its presence in online gaming, followed by the purchase of Gaming Innovation Group’s B2C assets in 2020. Betsson has also invested in sports sponsorships, partnering with football clubs like Boca Juniors and Atlético Nacional. With a strong focus on innovation and customer experience, Betsson continues to grow its global footprint while adhering to regulatory standards and responsible gaming practices.
